Genetic Underpinnings
A landmark 2022 paper in Cell Reports sequenced the genomes of 32 verified porn lookalike pairs (unrelated individuals identified as lookalikes by facial-recognition software). Key findings:
- Doppelganger pairs shared significantly more SNPs in craniofacial development genes than control pairs
